Who works with Phoenix Coaching? Meet Client 'F' Wanting support with improving relationships.

Who comes to Phoenix for Coaching?

Let me introduce you to 'Client F'.

Client 'F' came to me following a referral from her doctor following a diagnosis of ASD, (Autism Spectrum Disorder) to seek support with communication and behaviour change.

Client 'F' was finding certain situations challenging in particular situations where there was potential conflict or understanding thoughts, opinions and behaviours that were different to her own.

Through Coaching, we were able to spend time talking through real-life situations. We were able to use our time together to reflect and review situations that had happened. We spent time looking at the situation from different possible perspectives of those involved, giving her time and space to consider, and seek understanding of how she had perceived the situation in comparison to how others had potentially perceived it.

We also spent time reflecting on her response and the outcome, what went well, what had not gone so well. This gave us an opportunity to look at alternative behaviours and outcomes should a similar situation arise again. This helped to reduce the overwhelm of managing social situations, and we were able to find some coping mechanisms to manage the anxiety that going into these social interactions would bring.

Client 'F' had coaching support for a sustained period of time. This has allowed the coaching relationship and rapport to develop into one of trust and understanding. This has enabled challenging conversations within a trusted and safe space to allow honest reflection and an openness to try different behavioural responses for a more positive outcome.

Client 'F' was able to learn to understand her diagnosis and what it meant for her. She was able to find more clarity in what the world is like for her which meant she was able to communicate this better with those closest to her. This resulted in her improving the relationships and the support around her.

Whilst the challenges that Client 'F' faced were very specific to her, the challenge of communication and behaviour change is one faced by many clients that I work with. It is not uncommon that clients that I work who seek to understand their world and the world around them better so that they can improve social communication and interactions.

When you understand and improve the relationship with your self you can understand and improve the relationships with those around you.
