Who comes to Phoenix for Coaching?
Let me introduce you to 'Client H'.
Client 'H' is in her teens. She has had a tough few years in school, she was bullied by her classmates and her inability to be able to cope with it spiralled her into some very dark and low days.
At her age, she isn't yet equipped to deal with the challenges she has faced. She is doing her best with the skills and the tools that she has, however it just isn't enough for her to work through everything she is facing.
Before 'H' came to Phoenix for Coaching she tried a number of different therapies including counselling. Whilst each therapy gave her some tools and strategies to use she felt frustrated at not feeling like she was moving forward or focusing on a more positive future and so when her doctor suggested Coaching as an alternative she got in touch to find out more.
When I first 'H' she wanted to spend time focusing on her present and her future, she was very clear that she didn't want to focus on her past and wanted to put her energy in making the best of a bad situation.
'H' signed up for 1:1 coaching and we have been working together for some time now. We have spent time working on developing her life skills. Identifying her strengths and looking at who she has become and what all of her experiences have taught her.
Since working together 'H' has identified a routine that works for her and supports her mental and physical health. She has taken up journaling and a number of other activities that help her to create space and escape from the real world.
She has worked on her mindset, how she responds and reacts to things that happen now. Each coaching session we talk through what has happened, give her the opportunity to reflect and review what has happened as well focusing on what is coming up to give her support and guidance.
'H' has come such a long way. She is adding tools to the toolbox all the time. Her resilience is building and as she learns to manage her responses and find activities that give her purpose and fulfilment she is becoming happier and healthier and her focus on what she wants from her future is becoming clearer and brighter.
Having coaching support means that 'H' has space where she can speak openly, without judgement, and take ownership to work on her challenges. It also means that her parents can support her in a parenting role and keep those important boundaries in place. They can check in with me on a regular basis and know that 'H' is surrounded by support.
As a parent, it can be a hard decision to make on how we best support our children. With coaching, we can either work with you as the parent so that you can support your child through challenges or we can work with your young person and help them directly with life tools and skills that will help them evolve and grow.
If this situation sounds familiar and you would like to consider coaching support, I would love to have a chat and see how coaching support might help.
